Adoption Fee Increase

Written by

Ark Cat Sanctuary has been dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of at-risk cats and kittens for over a decade. We take in sick cats, cats with behavioral issues, pregnant cats, and underage kittens from public shelters, provide medical or behavioral care as needed, and place most of them in loving homes. We work very closely with other partners in Northern Arizona who want to reach the same goals. All of this is very expensive; we rely on community support, grants, and donations to make it all possible. Recently, the fees we pay to spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinate our cats have increased substantially. In order for us to remain in business and continue our work we must unfortunately raise our adoption fees. We are working to find more providers to partner with in an effort to keep our fees from raising again in the near future.

The new adoption fees go into effect immediately and are as follows:

—Kittens $150

—Adults (6 months+) $125

—Fees for senior (10 years+) and special needs cats will be on a case-by-case basis, but will be discounted from the regular price.

Adoption fees are used to defray the costs of preparing a cat for adoption; this includes any medical care the cat needed prior to the adoption, microchips, vaccines, spay/neuter services, and all costs associated with sheltering cats waiting for adoption (food, litter, etc.).

Just as a reminder, we are a nonprofit organization. Ark Cat Sanctuary does not profit from your donations or the grants we receive. Our workforce consists almost entirely of volunteers, with very minimal staff. The money we receive goes directly back to the cats and their care.

We thank you for your understanding and for your continued support of our mission.
